Silver Robin’s mission is to alleviate loneliness by connecting the young and the old. Silver Robin can help facilitate this by sharing stories, experiences, and memories. We have already connected schools with the older community, where students have collaborated with the senior generation to share a common interest.
In June, students from St Edward School in Oxford spent a few hours with Avril and friends of Silver Robin. It was very beneficial and enjoyed by everyone involved. The students offered advice, particularly with the use of social media and it benefits.
Late last year, Silver Robin worked with Holland Park Comprehensive students to encourage the pupils to connect with their older relatives and friends. The outcome was a series of varied Christmas themed pieces about memories and experiences shared. Those recordings, captured on the students smart phones can be heard here
Silver Robin also organised a competition for artwork and written pieces, during The Oxford Literary Festival for students at The Oxford Academy.
