Silver Robin, with help with art students Alicia and Magnus chats to renown artist Ruth Heppel, about her childhood and her break into art school during the war.

Ruth has been painting for over 70 years, She has painted Chancellor of Germany Kurt Georg Kiesinger, Archbishop of Wales Derrick Childs and most recently, HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

She discusses the initial oppressive nature of her experiences. She also chats about Hockney, Emin and the stress, hard work, and challenge of painting portraits. Please excuse the variable sound quality!
