Taia Fry has kindly sent in some recordings celebrating Mothers Day. The tradition of Mother’s Day has been around since the 1900’s, created to honour and celebrate the mother of the family. It is now celebrated in over 70 different countries and serves as an important reminder of the daily tasks that our mothers selflessly perform in order to keep a family functioning. Celebrations include buying flowers and gifts, making breakfast in bed and cooking dinner. It is an important day designed to celebrate the role of motherhood, not only in a family but also in society. Below are a few recordings of the traditions that take place in different countries. Remember to treat your mum this Mother’s Day!!
