As we approach the end of the year, it becomes a time for reflection and it’s a fact of life that with the joy and happiness, also comes sadness and sorrow. This is a beautifully poignant poem sent in to us via email. Please take the time to read this one, and as ever we encourage you to send in your thoughts and ideas.
As early winter’s cold embraces,
sending out its mournful fingers
to close around my heart,
its mists form also about my memories.
Still, I remember in sadness what
this year has lost, and cannot recover
to re-warm the love we shared 30 years,
mind’s eye’s pictures blurring unevenly.
Another year ends, but this is different.
You still are my heart, thoughts, feelings,
the difference this year’s end, and others,
being that you are not here, my love.
